exhibition / Mauthausen Memorial
co: Sonja Cechak, Barbara Nedved
The exhibition space inside the visitor center of the concentration camp Mauthausen should reflect the topic of ›remembering – suppressing‹. Our work has the intention of being a bridge from the past to the present. We created a space for reflection that allows one to contemplate and invites one to communicate. The moveable furniture can be adjusted according to the visitors’ needs and is prepared with text fragments to animate and inspire. The room also gives the possibility to leave written messages. The graphic language uses the symbol of the Möbius strip to visualise the given topic. The lively colour orange contrasts the architectural environment which is dominated
by the material, concrete.
